Is this PDF image extractor free?

What image formats can I save extracted images as?
You can save extracted images as PNG (lossless, best quality) or JPG/JPEG (smaller file size with adjustable quality). PNG is recommended for documents with text and sharp graphics, while JPG is better for photo-heavy PDFs where file size matters.
How does the extraction work?
The tool renders each PDF page at high resolution using Mozilla's PDF.js library, then lets you download the rendered pages as image files. This approach produces clean, high-quality images from any PDF regardless of its internal structure.
Can I extract images from specific pages only?
Yes! After uploading your PDF, all pages are shown as thumbnails. Click on individual pages to select or deselect them. Only selected pages will be extracted. Use the "Select All" and "Deselect All" buttons for quick selection.
What does the scale setting do?
The scale setting controls the resolution of the extracted images. 1x produces 72 DPI images (good for thumbnails), 2x produces 144 DPI (good for web and presentations), 3x produces 216 DPI (good for printing), and 4x produces 288 DPI (professional quality). Higher scales produce sharper images but larger file sizes.
How do I download all extracted images at once?
After extraction, you can download individual images by clicking the download button on each one, or click "Download All as ZIP" to get all extracted images in a single ZIP archive.
Is there a file size or page limit?
The tool accepts PDFs up to 50MB. Since all processing happens in your browser, very large PDFs with many pages may take longer to process. For best performance, keep PDFs under 100 pages.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?
No. This tool processes PDFs 100% in your browser using PDF.js (by Mozilla). Your files never leave your device, making this completely private and secure.
Can I extract images from password-protected PDFs?
This tool does not support password-protected or encrypted PDF files. You will need to remove the password protection first using your PDF reader software or our Unlock PDF tool, then upload the unprotected file.
