Common questions about blurring and pixelating images

Is this blur tool free?

Yes, completely free with no limits. Your images are processed entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to any server.

What is the difference between blur and pixelate?

Gaussian blur creates a smooth, out-of-focus effect by averaging nearby pixels. Pixelation creates a mosaic of large colored blocks, making the content unrecognizable in a more obvious way. Both effectively hide sensitive information.

Can I blur only part of an image?

Yes. Select "Draw Regions" mode, then click and drag on the image to draw rectangles around the areas you want to blur or pixelate. You can draw multiple regions and the effect will only apply inside those areas.

Can I undo a region after drawing it?

You can click the "Clear Regions" button to remove all drawn regions and start over. The original image is never modified — the effect is only applied when you click "Apply & Download".

What intensity level should I use?

For hiding text and small details, an intensity of 8-12 is usually sufficient. For faces and larger objects, use 15-25 for a stronger effect. Use the preview to check before downloading.
